Decision on closing NYC construction sites over coronavirus coming: de Blasio

Local officials are nearing a decision on whether to shut down construction sites in New York City to stop the spread of coronavirus, Mayor de Blasio said Thursday.
Hizzoner said the city and state will likely determine what restrictions are placed on construction by Friday.
鈥淚 think in the next 24 hours or so, I hope we鈥檒l get an agreement between the city and the state,鈥 de Blasio said during in his daily message on the pandemic where he answers questions from New Yorkers about coronavirus.
De Blasio was responding to a question from Matty, who wanted to know what the mayor could do to end construction since 鈥渨orkers don鈥檛 feel safe right now鈥 and the industry is 鈥渘ot essential.鈥
鈥淲e鈥檙e working on this together to try and figure out what that rule should be, because, obviously, things are changing,鈥 de Blasio said.
